Dr Who

I love Dr Who!!
So obsessed with it right now. I never watched it before but since Matt Smith became the new doctor I thought I'd try and get into it - after all it's a British institution! Season 5 just finished, can't wait for more.. Might have to go back and watch all the David Tennant ones now.

Bit of a pointless post.. but that's about the only excitement I've had today. I think I'm still trying to recover from a very very drunken night out dancing on saturday. When did I start to have 2 day hangovers? I remember being 18, staying out all night, having 4 hours sleep and feeling fit as a fiddle. Now I'm a 24 year old arthritic. Marvellous folks, just marvellous!

I'll go back to Dr Who now and leave you with this wonderful picture.. just remember - bow ties are cool!!

  1. You never watched it before???? What??? What??? What??? Needless to say, I'm shocked. You must go back and get all the David Tennant episodes (all of them, you hear), and watch them over the summer and let me now what you think. I'm crying right now (OK, not really, but almost), thinking about them. I'm behind on the new Doctor Who, but in honor of your new interest will try to catch up on them this week. :) L

  2. Husband loves Dr. Who. He liked Tennant a lot and at first wasn't crazy about this new guy. Must have got over it because he never misses an episode. I'm nuts about House, watch it religiously and every rerun that comes on.

  3. I gotta admit that I haven't watched Dr. Who. Not even one second. I'm not even sure what it is about, is sci-fi, no?

  4. Haha I'm glad you know what I'm talking about, I wasn't sure if it's big across the Atlantic.

Laurie, I will definitely watch series 2-4,my flatmate has them all but I've somehow managed to avoid it until now. You have to watch 5 and tell me what you think of Matt Smith! (He's awesome and kind of attractive in a weird way?) And his assistant is also attractive - she's a ginger Scot woo hoo!

Joan, it's always a bit weird when a character changes, I guess it takes a while to get used to it! I've never seen House but I like Hugh Laurie so maybe I should check it out. Then again... I see enough of hospitals in real life these days, so maybe not!!

Pony...erm.. it's sort of about this mad alien time traveller, who has all sorts of adventures and travels through space and time in an old blue british police box thing. It's sci fi yes, but it's funny and not like star trek or anything. It's kind of a cult thing, I think you'll either love it or absolutely hate it!

  5. I do hate the Daleks. Always have, always will. And I don't just mean as characters. I hate episodes that they're on...wish they'd just exterminate them once and for all!

  6. Another virgin to Dr. Who!! Did just check Netflix and they have the BBC version, seasons 1-4 on instant watch (season 5 not available, yet. Oh, and the original is also available-mostly on instant watch. I, too, have some new summer viewing!!

See, not a pointless post at all!

    Thanks,

    Jenn

  7. Yeah the Daleks are a bit silly but I think fans of the original show are fond of them. I think they were scary in the 60s lol.

Jenn, I hope you like it! It's a bit odd.. oh and season 1 has Christopher Eccleston as the doctor so it's really different to the rest. David Tennat and Matt Smith are better, I think. Glad you enjoyed the pointless post..about to do another one..

  8. Mmm Doctor Who. I heard a rumor that a US movie starring Johnny Depp might be in the works, but that seems really unlikely.

I think Tennant was the best, but the new guy isn't as bad as I thought he would be. So I guess it isn't too much of a loss.

Also, I nominated you for the One Lovely Blog award!
